“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.”
Psalms 116:15

Have you ever prayed for God to heal someone and they died anyway? Have you ever prayed for someone and in the midst of the prayer, God said, “Transition”. In other words, prepare for their death. Do you give up hope? Did you hear God right? As I knelt one morning to pray for my Church Friend, my Sister-in Christ, my sister through the blood of Christ, I heard the Spirit say, “Transition.” I immediately got up and thought no I heard wrong. No Lord, please not yet. I mentioned it to someone and was told to still pray for her healing and I did not share it with anyone else.

When the Lord told David that his baby would die, 2 Samuel 12:14, David fasted and prayed anyway. Why, he was asked? 2 Samuel 12:21, “And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell whether God will be gracious to me, that the child may live?” 2 Samuel 12:22 This is true. For After God pronounced the death of King Hezekiah, he prayed, then God extended his life. 2 Kings 20:1-6 So you should never cease from praying and hoping. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

So I continued to pray for healing. But the time came when I received a text that the “Transition” was in process. Transition: the process or a period of changing from one state or condition to another. It was time for my friend to begin the change where her physical body would be separated from her spirit and soul.

  • Then the Lord said to me, “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.” Psalms 116:15 NLT says, “The Lord cares deeply when his loved ones die..” He reminded me of his promise to never leave us under any circumstance. “….I will never [under any circumstances] desert you [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], nor will I forsake or let you down or relax My hold on you [assuredly not]!” Hebrews 13:5AMP He loves us and He's right there with us even in death. We often take comfort in knowing our loved ones will finally be with Jesus but before my friend got there she experienced another level of God's comforting love.

Jesus tells us in Matthew 10:29, 31 that nothing happens to us without Him knowing. “What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin[ a ]? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. 31 So don't be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.” Jesus said God knows and is aware of everything that happens even to sparrows, and we are more valuable to Him than they are.

  • So as I sat in my time of devotion I heard, “Why did she die?” Hmmm “Ok Lord, what's Your answer, You knew I had the question that I had not voiced?” He said, “And it is appointed unto men once to die…” Hebrews10:27 It was appointed. For some reason we sometimes pray as if death is not a possibility. This is good by faith, but to be in tuned with God we have to know that at some point we all have to keep our appointment believing the prayer of healing is always answered, either on this side or in paradise. Revelation 21:4

  • What happened when the transition became final?
“And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;” Luke 16:22 The Bible teaches us that The Angel of the Lord encamps around the believers. Psalms 34:7

The Bosom of Abraham is also translated “Abraham's side”, next to Abraham”, “the arms of Abraham”, “with Abraham” which speaks to the mysterious nature of the Greek word kolpos. The translations were attempting to convey the sense that Lazarus went to a place of rest, contentment, and peace. Referring to the place of comfort in the Biblical Sheol (or Hades in the Greek Septuagint version of the Hebrew Scriptures) where the righteous dead await judgment reserved for a special guest. Synonymous to the paradise promised to the thief on the cross. Luke 23:42-43

Together these passages support the conviction that a believer enjoys immediate bliss at the moment of physical death. Physical death is the separation of our body from our soul and spirit while spiritual death is the separation of our soul from God.

  • So where is she? Absent from the body, present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:6 , 2 Corinthians 5:8
  • Jesus told us in John 14:2-3 “In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” And in 2 Thessalonians1:14  “For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.” Where is she? She's with Jesus!

  • She died and transitioned to be with Jesus. Now what? “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: 2 A time to be born, and a time to die; ..A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; Ecclesiastes.3:1-2..4 The grieving period. Never let anyone tell you, "Don't cry. You must be strong." God says there is a time to mourn and a time to weep. His comfort during this period is to not weep without hope! 1 Thessalonians 4:13 Keep your eyes on Jesus and never lose hope! Colossians 1:27

While the baby was still alive David fasted and prayed but once the baby died David got up off the ground, washed himself, changed his clothes and went to church and worshiped the Lord. 2 Samuel 12:19-20 He was asked why did he stop mourning and starting eating after the child died?

  • Come on David and testify:
“David replied, “I fasted and wept while the child was alive, for I said, ‘Perhaps the Lord will be gracious to me and let the child live.'  But why should I fast when he is dead? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him one day, but he cannot return to me.” David said I can't bring him back but I will see him again!

  • “..For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17

It was said I lost a friend. Did I actually lose a friend? No! According to the Word, she's not lost. I know where she is. My friend has transitioned to a blessed place to be with the Lord. Revelation 14:13 Paul taught us: “Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” 1 Thessalonians 4:18

God says, "______________ (insert your name) Let not your heart be troubled, you believed and received my Son, believe and trust Me your Father. ___________ (insert your loved one's name) was never alone. Remember I loved he/she first with an everlasting love.
