"As you look around right now, wouldn't you say that in about four months it will be time to harvest?
Well, I'm telling you to open your eyes and take a good look at what's right in front of you.
These Samaritan fields are ripe.
It's harvest time!"
John4:35 (The Message)

One of the saddest things to look at through the eyes of Our Father is a church going about the business of simply taking care of themselves. Having church programs for themselves, such as Ladies in White or Hats, with a goal designed simply for the prize of who raised the most money or who had the best outfit or hat. Having fun and raising more money for more gathering of themselves. Programs designed to stay in the confines of the four walls of the church. Programs to keep the “Church” up and running so that they can stay safely inside.

We invite people to the church, and we should, but what if a person's time is up before they make it to church? I could see the tear in Our Father's eye as He watch us reserve seats in the church exclusively for our family and when a guest, someone who was invited, takes that seat we get upset. I can see the tear in Our Father's eye when He sends loss souls in our path and all we talk about is the weather and worse than that we turn our head and mind our own business. ("And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?" Luke 2:49) and even put our head down and read a book in the midst of one of His lost sheep trying to get home. Day 101 of the 365 days of the year may be his/her time to leave this earth and God have placed them right in your midst. I can see the tear in Our Father's eye when He thinks of how He so graciously saved us and now we are only shouting and dancing in the church having a good time with no thoughts of inviting someone else while His sheep are trying to get home. (John 10:16)

“In the meantime, the disciples pressed him, “Rabbi, eat. Aren't you going to eat?” He told them, “I have food to eat you know nothing about.” The disciples were puzzled. “Who could have brought him food?” John4:31-33 (The Message)

I once was asked to prepare short devotion for a small women's ministry group. The topic was, “Harvest Blessings”. Be honest, what is your first thought when you hear Harvest Blessings? Don't read further until you have answered it. Usually, maybe not all, the word blessing brings thoughts of how God is going to bless you whether it be financially or spiritually. The harvest would be from all the seeds you have sown, such as financial seeds, meaning you are about to reap abundantly. As I spent time with God preparing the devotion, the Harvest Blessing switched from our harvest blessings to His Harvest Blessings. More than ever before God is calling for the Harvest of Souls.

Jesus said, “The food that keeps me going is that I do the will of the One who sent me, finishing the work he started. As you look around right now, wouldn't you say that in about four months it will be time to harvest? Well, I'm telling you to open your eyes and take a good look at what's right in front of you. These Samaritan fields are ripe. It's harvest time!” John 4:34-35

When the disciples looked for Jesus to eat He told them that the food He was feeding on was to do the will of His Father who sent Him. Jesus knew He had an end and it would come soon.“For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.”(Luke22:37) In the meantime He had to work while it was still day because his time on earth would end soon. (John 9:4)

Remember the joke about the man who prayed for help when a flood came. Someone passing by asked if the person needed help to evacuate and the person said, No I'm waiting for God, He will help me.” The water rose to his waist and someone came with a boat and asked if he needed help and he said, “No I've prayed and God will help me. Then the water rose over his head and he climbed to his roof and a helicopter came and yelled grab the ladder and he said, That's okay, God will save me! Then the flood over took him and he died. When He arrived to heaven he asked God, "Why didn't You save me? God said, “I sent my servant on foot, you refused, I sent another servant in the boat and you refused, then finally I sent my servant by air and you still refused.”

Let's switch it. A young man lives right next door struggling with issues to live right. Every Sunday when you return from church, the young man is washing his car. The message at church was "The Salvation of Souls and the End Tiimes." You pull up and he says, “How are you doing neighbor?” You say, “Doing great!” then immediately go inside. The next Sunday the message is "Time is Running Out", you pull up after attending church and there he is washing his car. He says, “Oh I see you went to church!” You say, Yes, I did, ok have a nice day!” And go inside. The next Sunday the message is, “The Time is Right Now”. You pull up and the young man is washing his car and says, “Did you have a good time in church?” And you only say, “Yes, I prayed for you!” The young man says, Thanks! I reallllly appreciate that! And you simply turn and go inside again. The next Sunday you say to yourself I'm going to invite him to church but when you pull up the young man is not there. He was shot and killed that morning while you were at church. You arrive to heaven and God says, “Three times your neighbor cried out for help, and three times you, my servant, refused to answer. “But God!” you say, “He did not ask me for help!” God says, “He cried to me for help and I sent the message about the Salvation of Souls one Sunday morning and his soul was placed in your midst. The next Sunday I sent the message, “Time is Running Out!” and again you failed to see the soul in your midst. Finally I told you “The Time is Right Now” and all you said was I prayed for you.” James 2:15-16 Hmmm…..

"As you look around right now, wouldn't you say that in about four months it will be time to harvest? Well, I'm telling you to open your eyes and take a good look at what's right in front of you. These Samaritan fields are ripe. It's harvest time!” John4:35 (The Message)

Today's message is simple. God says to all of us, He sent His Son to die for us that we might have eternal life. (John 3:16-17) Once we have received life we were then commissioned to become disciples (Matthew 28:18-20) sent out as Jesus did, seeking to save those who are lost. Jesus said Himself; He did not come for those who are saved. (Luke 19:9-10) Church is a place to gather in His name. To worship and praise God, to be taught, strengthened, encouraged and built up in Him. (Hebrews 10:25) But when it's over we should always be about our Father's business. ("...wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?"Luke 2:49) Programs are fine if purposed to continue to build the Kingdom. But the program that I can imagine that puts a smile on God's face, is the Evangelism Program. You know, the one with the purpose of winning souls not contests. (Proverbs 11:30)

Harvest: the process or period of gathering in crops. synonyms: harvesting, reaping, picking collecting. To gather (a crop) as a harvest. "after harvesting, most of the crop is stored in large buildings " synonyms: gather (in), bring in, reap, pick, collec.t Hmmm………Get it, (large buildings-church) well you will get it when you get home. Smile

God's Harvest Blessing is the gathering and collection all of His lost sheep into His kingdom where by we all are gathered in His church while on earth worshipping, praising, learning, being encouraged, strengthened, healed, blessed and going out to gather more until We ALL Get To Heaven. And as the song says, "What A Day of Rejoicing That Will Beeeee, When We ALL See JESUS, We Will Sing and Shout the Victoryyyyy!!!!!"

God says, “________________ (insert your name) no matter where you are, be watchful for the souls I will send your way. Pray daily that while you are here you don't miss one of my lost sheep. I sent someone for you, now look around and return the favor. Freely you have received so freely give. THEN when you see Me, We will all shout the Victory! Smile! ”

Take a minute and click on the clock above and remind yourself of how fleeting time is? Stop for a moment and think we now have ___days ___ hours, ___ minutes, and ____ seconds left to reach 2016. How many souls have you reached thus far?
