Who Am I? In the year of 2000, after seemingly feeling faint on several occasions, I went to the doctor and was given a halter monitor to wear overnight. Apparently my heart beat was very irregular. I turned it in the next morning. Later that day I was called and asked to report to the hospital immediately. When I got there my doctor was frantically trying to get me a room equipped to constantly monitor my heart rate. He met me in the waiting room and said if he was not told that I was the one who brought in the monitor, he would have believed I died. He said not only did my heart stop once, for a period that it could not have began to beat on its on, but it happened three times. He called in several doctors to review the monitor. He stated each time they heard it and believed that was it; suddenly my heart would begin to beat. He introduced me to the staff as his walking miracle. While in ICU I heard Satan say, “Get ready you are going to die!” I knew that was not the voice of God. I asked God was it my time to die. I truly believed, because I had such a close relationship with my Father, that he would not allow me to die without him preparing me. I opened my bible (I went no where without it even in ICU) to Psalms 27:13; In the Living Translation He declared that I shall see his goodness in the land of the living. Then he directed me to Psalms 116:1-9, 15. In verse 9 (LT) my Father said, “I shall live here! Yes in his presence—here on earth!" My Father said in verse 15 (LT) “His loved ones are very precious to him and he does not lightly let them die”. The scripture the Lord gave me after surgery was Philippians 1:21-26 (Living Translation says) “…I will always be an honor to Christ, whether I live or whether I must die. For to me, living means opportunities for Christ, and dying----well, that's better yet! Sometimes I want to live and at other times I don't, for I long to go and be with Christ. How much happier for me than being here! But the fact is that I can be of more help to you by staying! Yes, I am still needed down here and so I feel certain I will be staying on earth a little longer, to help you grow and become happy in your faith, my staying will make you glad and give you reason to glorify Christ Jesus…” Long and short end of the story, after receiving a defibrillator and several stopped heart beats over the years, I'm still here, faithfully serving the Lord! My Mission Statement: To encourage and enlighten God's people in the faith and bring excitement and enjoyment in serving the Lord. Who Am I? | |
