Today Saturday, December 31 at 12:01am ends the Year of 2016 and begins 2017.

You may have begun 2016 with a Word from God given by a Preacher saying, “Everything You Have Been Waiting for to Happen will Happen in 2016!” You Shouted, Cried, Danced, Praised and Thanked God, believing that if God said IT then IT would come to pass. “For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” 2 Corinthians 1:20 Healing, blessings, homes, finances! Hallelujah!!! But one thing you did not hear, although the preacher may have said it and if He did not say it at that time, under good, sound, doctrine teaching, you would have known that, a fight was involved.

In the book of Joshua God instructed the people by letting them know that although the land promised was theirs, they had to fight to possess it. Joshua 1:10-15.

The message may not have said at the time that you had a formidable contender that would fight you tooth and nail even to the death. (Job 1:7) (1 Peter 5:8) (John 10:10). Nor did it remind you that YOU are one of your worst enemies. (Romans 7:14-15) (Romans 7:18-19)

But it's December 31st and it did not happen! Why didn't it happen in 2016?
“For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.” Psalms 90:4 What was it that didn't happen in 2016? Paying off a debt? Healing? Restoration of a relationship? A new home? A business? What was it? ______________. A husband? A wife? A divorce? Hmmm….

• First: The months of the year were given for human use that originated as a way to mark time and break up the seasons into shorter periods based on the Moon's orbit around the Earth. Months were invented and first used in Mesopotamia to measure the natural period related to the cycle of the moon.
  
• Second: In a sense, the marking of time is irrelevant to God because He transcends it. Peter, in  2 Peter 3:8 , cautioned his readers not to let this one critical fact escape their notice—that God's perspective on time is far different from mankind's (Psalms 102:12,  Psalms 102:24-27). The Lord does not count time as we do. He is above and outside of the sphere of time. God sees all of eternity's past and eternity's future. The time that passes on earth is of no consequence from God's timeless perspective. A second is no different from an eon; a billion years pass like seconds to the eternal God. [GotQuestions.org]

When is it over? When do you get It? Those who foolishly demand that God operate according to their time frame ignore the fact that He is the “High and Lofty One . . . who lives forever.” (Isaiah 57:15) Your answer to When? (Isaiah 55:8) In the fullness of God's time, when God has put everything in its place including you and His purpose is fulfilled! Jeremiah 29:11

Therefore, “I am convinced and confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will [continue to] perfect and complete it until the day of Christ Jesus [the time of His return].” AMP Philippians 1:6

Be of good courage and know you are in the good fight of faith because if God said it then He will do it and if He spoke it then He will make it good!!! (Numbers 23:19) The Word says you may not see it yet, but it's done. 2 Corinthians 5:7 What if you failed to obey? Confess 1 John 1:8-9 put those things behind you and move forward. Philippians 3:13-14 The Word says if you are still in the land of the living there is hope (Psalms 27:13-14) and He promises to deliver. (Psalms 37:39-40)

And if you fought the good fight of faith, then you should have some battle scars leaving out of 2016. You may be limping or skipping, you may be crying or laughing, you may be even crawling into 2017 BUT GOD! If you are still in the land of the living, He's not finished yet! Philippians 1:6

So at midnight Shout, Dance, Praise, and Thank God just like you did in the beginning of 2016. Thank him for what He's done, is doing, and will do! He knows when you are ready and He knows how to get you there! And according to the Word we should be calling those things that be not as though they were!!!!!! Romans 4:17 And if your loved ones, who were in the Lord, completed their journey and passed on, still Shout? Because they are with Him and waiting for us! 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

God says, “_______________ (insert your name) keep your head up, we have some work to do!

So what do you do to get IT? Start off 2017 with sitting with the Father and allowing Him to direct you. Regroup, set goals, plans, commit to obedience and accountability and move forward.
