“Some trust in chariots, and some in horses:
but we will remember the name of the
Lord our God.”
Psalm 20:7

While spending time with God one morning He led me to this scripture, “And the Lord was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.” Judges 1:19.

I said wait a minute God, how is it that you were with Judah and they were able to drive out the inhabitants of the mountain but could not drive out those in the valley because they had Chariots of Iron? Weren't you with them in the mountain, so did you leave them in the valley? You promised to never leave, abandon, or forsake us. Hebrews 13:5 Are you not greater than iron? Matter of fact, You made the iron and the men on the chariots are under Your control. Psalm 24:1, Proverbs 21:1

This bothered me because I was facing something that seemed invincible, even though I knew better. In Judges 1:1-2 the Lord told Judah He had already given them the land and they knew they had to fight. But like the ten spies of Israel who saw the giants and became afraid, Numbers 13:31-32 they saw the Chariots of Iron. Judges 1:19

It was not God that couldn't drive out the enemy because of the Chariots of Iron, it was their fear which caused them to look at the Chariots of Iron and not the God who promised. Romans 4:18-21 Like the children of Israel, who became grasshoppers in their own minds in the midst of the Giants in Numbers 13:33 the Chariots of Iron, although real, became greater than their faith in God! Psalms 121:1-2

It was not the Chariots of Iron that they had to fight but the Good Fight of Faith!

Although God has brought me through many trials, it's the present one that I'm currently facing, that continually tries to immobilize me. Sometimes, as long as I'm fighting by praying, fasting, still giving, serving, trusting, believing, taking care of all that He commanded me to the best of my ability, I'm winning!

But like Judah, I was in the mountain winning but then the Valley came and the Chariots of Iron showed up. Judges 4:3

The real fight of faith unfolds in the valley where true spiritual warfare is waged. For me, my valley was the waiting period! It's there that the enemy launches his fierest assault on your mind barraging you with an onslaught of fiery darts: thoughts of doubt, paralyzing fear, frustration over delay, "Why is it taking so long?", self-recrimination, "I messed up!, What did I do wrong?" exhaustion, wanting to give up, I'm tired!" The enemy's purpose is to take your focus off of the God of promise! Matthew 14:29-30

Our purpose in this difficult wait is to relentlessly fight the Good Fight of Faith until victory manifest! You must put on your weapons of warfare! Ephesians 6:10-11 They are not carnal but mighty in God! 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 Your weapons are found in Ephesians 6:13-18 Stand in faith and declare out Loud! I shall see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living!!! Psalms 27:13-14 And praise Him and be strengthened in the Valley until He shows up and show out! Nehemiah 8:10

Okay Satan, what if I made a mistake? Then like the children of Israel I will cry out to the Lord! Judges 4:1-3 He is no respecter of a person, what He did for them He will do for me besides, I too am the promised seed of Abraham. Galatians 3:7 I don't know how He's going to do it but I know He will Isaiah 43:19 God's ways are not our ways. Isaiah 55:8

Proving it was not about the Chariots of Iron for God, in Judges 4 He caused the enemy, Sisera, who had the Chariots of Iron, to come down off his Chariot of Iron and he and all his army was destroyed. Judges 4:15-16 How? Because Psalms 24:1, Proverbs 21:1 And everything that is named is under Jesus feet! Ephesians 1:19-22! Hallelujah!!!

As Joshua and Caleb stood by faith in the face of great opposition in Numbers 14:8-9 and were the only two that entered the Promised Land because of their faith in what God had promised, Numbers 14:36-38, I too must continue to stand and not stagger and be strong in faith being fully persuaded that what He promised He is more than able to perform! Romans 4:20-21

What about you today? What Chariots of Iron are you facing? What Promise are you standing on?

Remember: It's not the Chariots of Iron that we have to fight in the Valley but it's the Good Fight of Faith in God!

God says, “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but you _____________ (insert your name) remember my name, the King of Glory, the Lord God strong and mighty in battle, The Lord of Host!!! Your enemy is defeated and the battle is already won!
