“...Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield:
but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel,
whom thou hast defied.”
1 Samuel 17:45

One of my greatest battles took place in the Operating Room. I remember when I was told I that I needed a defibrillator (see About Me). While in the doctor's office the surgeon explained the procedure and discussed what would take place. He explained that he would cut me, plant leads to my heart and place the defibrillator above my heart. He went on to inform me of the dangers and the possibility of death. As it got close to the date I became nervous. My family, church, friends and of course myself prayed for healing, guidance of the surgeon and that all would be well. The Sunday before the surgery our Pastor preached about David and Goliath. Psalm 107:20. And God gave me his Word to stand on in battle. (KJ) “ Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.” 1 Samuel 17:45,

Knowing that sickness was not of God, as I was wheeled on a stretcher to surgery, my focus began to shift on Satan and how he comes to steal, kill, and destroy John 10:10. I began to see him as Goliath. While being prepped for surgery he launched his first attack. Satan (Goliath), like he did David 1 Samuel 17:44, began to taunt me. “You aint going to make it. You will die. You better make sure you got your business in order. I thought God was supposed to heal you. He did it for everybody else without surgery.”

And I countered attacked and began to repeat, “Satan you may come with your scalpels and knives but I come in the name of the Lord of host. No uncircumcised Philistine can come against God 1 Samuel 17:26. I am already healed this is simply the process.” And like David I reminded him how God did it before (1 Samuel 17:37) when he tried to kill me, then I said, “When my heart stop beating three different times that you set up, and without a doctor or defibrillator, God kept me alive!” I began to sing so, “I am on the battlefield for my Lord. I'm on the battlefield for my Lord, and I promised Him that I would serve Him 'til I die; I'm on the battlefield for my Lord. I was alone and idle, I was a sinner too. I heard a voice from heaven say there is work to do. I took the Master's hand, and I joined the Christian band; I'm on the battlefield for my Lord.”

I didn't realize one of the nurses' heard me. She came over and smiled and said I've been listening and it's going to be alright. I saw my illness as my Goliath and took on the weapons of warfare 2 Corinthians 10:4. I had prepared for the battle with prayer, meditation on the Word, Praise, Worship and Thanksgiving and when the attack came, like Jesus I battled with the Word. Matthew 4:4

No matter what the attack we are facing if it is not good and perfect James 1:17, it comes from Satan and allowed by God Job 2:3-6. Prepare for the battle ahead of time. It's coming; there is no doubt about it Psalm 34:19, John 16:33. Then when it comes or rather before he comes, put on God's armour Ephesians 6:11 choose God's weapons of warfare and counter attack Ephesians 6:14-17. Satan will try to have you speak man's quotes, “An apple a day will keep the doctors away.” Trust me at this time you won't need an apple! Satan will try and send his weapons through others, although they may be well meaning, of crying and doubting, texting unbelief, he will use the cell phone, “Girl/Man just pray, somebody told me not too many people live through that surgery.” "You can't win against those people. I've seen how they operate." Turn that cell phone off and speak what thus says the Lord of host and say to that Goliath (Satan), “ Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.” 1 Samuel 17:45

How is he attacking you today? An Unjust Act against you, Lack, Sickness, Hate, Lying, No Job, etc, etc and etc? Take your mind off of Goliath and place it on the All Powerful God, the Lord of Host-Strong and Mighty in Battle Psalm 24:10, Jehovah Shamach-The Lord is Present and you are not alone; El Roi-The Strong One Who Sees for He sees and knows all. He heard their conniving thoughts and saw how they planned. 2 Kings 19:27, El Shaaddi-God Almighty who can fight against God and win?; Jehovah Nissi-The Lord our Banner;. El Elyon- The Most High God who sits in the highest place causing all things to work according to His divine purpose and plan Genesis 14:22; the KING of kings and LORD of lords. Goliath is under HIS control!!!

But you must stand strong in the Lord and the power of His might Ephesians 6:10. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood Ephesians 6:12. So we must fight the good fight of faith! "... the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force . Matthew 11:12.

God says, “______________ (insert your name) the bigger they come the harder they fall. Stand close to Me and watch your Goliaths fall. I Am your sheild and exceeding great reward! Genesis 15:1"

Yes, I made it through the surgery without any problems although the recovery process was extremely painful and longer than they anticipated. The Lord kept me in the battle!!! And I'm still here and still fighting and I promised Him that I will serve Him until I die I am still On the Battlefield for my Lord!!!

So the question is not “Who is Goliath?” but WHO IS OUR GOD?!!! You better ask somebody? But make sure you ask a child of the King or you may be pointed in the wrong direction. (Smile) God bless you!
