“Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake:
whether it be to the king, as supreme;
1 Peter 2:13

How does God expect His people to be led by a Leader who they do not respect, do not like and believe the Leader does not have their best interest at heart?

I was once placed under a leader who treated me more like a slave than an employee. My official job was located in the plant but I received an opportunity to work in an office. I had a desk and a phone as compared to a processing machine where I stood up all night with two 10 minute breaks and a 30 minute lunch. To remain there I felt I had to take some stuff until I could do better. My manager would ask me to mail her personal packages. She gave me her personal mail to place in the mailbox as I watched her pass right by it. Some of the permanent employees would say, “Girl, I wouldn't do anything she asked me to do. She has no business asking you to mail her personal items.” But I did not want to take a chance with having her send me back to the plant. I asked God, “What should I do? This is not fair.” I had reached a point where I felt like cursing her and leaving. But God will always send a Word to heal and deliver. Psalm 107:20 He sent me these instructions in 1 Peter 2:13-22.

He said, (NLT) “For the Lord's sake, submit to all human authority—whether the king as head of state, …. Respect everyone, ……Fear God, and respect the king. You who are slaves must submit to your masters with all respect. Do what they tell you—not only if they are kind and reasonable, but even if they are cruel.” 1 Peter 2:13 - 1 Peter 2:17-18 "What? But God look how she's treating me!", I responded.

He said, “For God is pleased when, for conscious of his will, you patiently endure unjust treatment.  Of course, you get no credit for being patient if you are beaten for doing wrong. But if you suffer for doing good and endure it patiently, God is pleased with you. For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps. He never sinned, nor ever deceived anyone. He did not retaliate when he was insulted, nor threaten revenge when he suffered. He left his case in the hands of God, who always judges fairly.” 1 Peter 2:18-23 Hmmm……

“For thus saith the Lord of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.” Zechariah 2:8

How does God expect His people to be led by a Leader who they do not respect, do not like and believe the Leader does not have their best interest at heart?

He says: Respect the position out of respect for HIM 1 Peter 2:13, Fear Him and Submit to the authority 1 Peter 2:18-19 (as long as it does not go against HIM) Acts 5:27-29, Endure and be patient 1 Peter 2:20 and also we must Pray for the Leader 1 Timothy 2:1-3.

Why? Because we should follow our examaple 1 Peter 2:21-22, and because He IS the RIGHTEOUS Judge. 1 Peter 2:23 And becaus we are the apple of His eye. Anyone that sets out to mess with His people is messing with HIM and there are no arms strong or long enough to box with HIM! Zechariah 2:8. And remember [God Got This!] (previous message)

So I followed what God said and continued to submit to the harsh manager. A situation came about, caused by the manager, and I had to go back to the plant. BUT God! the true MANAGER! Brought me back under new and better leadership and the manager was dumbfounded. I have learned that when you follow God's instructions He will either remove the Leader Psalm 75:6-7 or move you to a better place. Psalm 66:12

What about an unfavorable President? Well, He will either move the Leader or move His people. But can God move a whole nation of people if the leader causes harm to them? His answer, “This battle is not yours, just stand and see the salvation of the Lord!” 2 Chronicles 20:15 - 2 Chronicles 20:17

God says, “_______________, (insert your name) never fear what a mere human can do to you. My eyes are fixed upon you and see all. This is not your battle, this one is Mine. Just follow My instructions and don't worry or be anxious. Philippians 4:6 I got this!.”
